Facet

Privacy Policy

Effective 30 August 2026

The short version

Facet has no accounts, no sign-up, and no servers of ours. We do not run analytics or crash reporting, and we never see your name, email, or payment details. Your progress lives on your device. The only information that leaves it goes to Apple, Google, or Google AdMob so that ads, purchases, and leaderboards can work — and on iOS, personalised advertising only happens if you allow it when asked.

Who we are

Facet is made by Burgundysoft. You can reach us any time at alvin@burgundysoft.io. This policy covers the Facet mobile app on iOS and Android. It does not cover this website or our other products.

What we do not collect

We think it is clearer to start here, because the list is long. Facet does not ask for an account, an email address, or a name. It contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, and no advertising-attribution SDK beyond what AdMob itself uses. The app makes no network requests to any server operated by us, because we do not operate one.

What stays on your device

Your level progress, stars, streaks, coins and gems, cosmetics, settings, and reminder preferences are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. Deleting the app deletes them. Purchases are the exception — those are restorable, because Apple and Google keep a record of them against your own account.

What third parties receive

Facet includes services from Apple and Google. When you use the parts of the game they power, those companies receive data directly, under their own privacy policies:

ServiceReceivesUsed for
Google AdMobDevice and advertising identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP, ad interaction eventsShowing and measuring the optional rewarded ads
Apple App Store / Google PlayYour purchase of a specific product, tied to your store accountProcessing and restoring in-app purchases
Apple Game Center / Google Play GamesYour player ID and the scores you submitLeaderboards, only if you are signed in

We never receive your payment details. Apple and Google handle the transaction and tell the app only that a purchase succeeded.

Advertising and tracking (iOS)

On iOS, Facet asks for permission before any tracking that uses your device's advertising identifier. If you decline, the game works exactly the same and you still get the same number of ads — they are simply less relevant, and less valuable to us. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads.

Buying the ad-free upgrade stops the advertising SDK from initialising at all, so no ad requests are made from your device.

Notifications

Facet can remind you about your daily puzzle and your streak. These are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device — no push server is involved and nothing is sent to us. They are off until you turn them on, and you can turn them off again in the game's settings or in your system settings.

Children

Facet is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us at alvin@burgundysoft.io and we will help you resolve it with the relevant provider.

Your choices

You can decline tracking, reset your advertising identifier, turn notifications off, sign out of Game Center or Play Games, or remove the ads entirely by purchasing the upgrade. Uninstalling Facet removes everything stored on your device. To remove data held by Apple or Google, use the privacy controls in your Apple or Google account — we cannot delete it on your behalf, because we never held it.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts collecting something new, this page changes before that version ships, and the effective date at the top changes with it.
